RVS College of Arts and Science is affiliated to Bharathiar University offering career-oriented educational services leading to graduation, post graduation and research degrees in Arts and Science disciplines. The college offered the courses designed and developed by Bharathiar University till the year June 2004. Since Sept. 2004 the college has been granted autonomous status by UGC and for the students admitted from the academic year 2004-05 courses have been framed independently under autonomous system, reflecting the demands and relevance of the current youth generation. The design and development of the curriculum are carried-out by the respective departments of the college. The degrees are conferred by the Bharathiar University.
The college has got various departments offering 15 UG and 14 PG courses, 8 M.hil and 3 Doctoral programmes in Arts and Science disciplines. There are 3000 students and 145 teaching staff members supported by 39 non-teaching staff. The college is located in 20 acres of land with salubrious greenery scintillating ecological values.
The college has well-equipped laboratories for its various courses. Highly qualified and experienced faculty, who are recruited through the norms of Bharathiar University and AICTE, handle the various courses
