In order to extend the state-of-the-art infrastructural and other facilities available at National R&D laboratories to the Post Graduate students, it was agreed between BESU and three Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) research institutes like Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Durgapur, Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI), Pilani and Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh that a joint PG programme on Mechatronics will be offered at BESU from session 2007-2008. Accordingly a common Course Structure, acceptable to all the institutes, was prepared and a MOU in this regard was signed between BESU and the said research institutes, Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI) and Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) on 26th February 2007, ushering a new era of collaboration between a University and R & D Institutes on PG and Research Programme at National level. The joint PG programme on Mechatronics will be offered by the “School of Mechatronics and Robotics” newly established for the purpose at BESU.
