Education
The education is learning and the development of physical abilities, mental and intellectual, the means and results of this development activity. Specifically, human education includes skills and cultural elements characteristic of geographic location and historical period.
Every country in the world has its own education system. The PISA aims to measure the performance of education systems in member countries of the OECD and developing international comparisons.

Education or training
The word "education" is directly derived from the Latin educatio well meaning, itself derived from ex-ducere (ducere means lead, guide, control and ex, "out") to produce (the land) to develop (a living)
Teaching is transmitted to future generations a body of knowledge (knowledge and skills) and values as part of a common culture. It is often easy to confuse teaching and education. Indeed, this last term, more generally corresponds to the formation of a comprehensive individual at various levels (in religious, moral, social, technical, scientific, medical, etc..). The term learning, in turn, refers rather to a very specific education or the 'transmission of knowledge through signs. "Signs" and "lor ement" also derive from the same Latin root. The signs used for the transmission of knowledge is, inter alia, reference to the language spoken and written.
Teaching is educate, educate but not necessarily teach.
Education is not limited to instruction that is strictly related only to the pure knowledge and skills (some useful to students: knowing how to cope with the social and technical to be hers).
It also aims to provide every individual the development of all its capabilities (physical, intellectual and moral). Thus, this education will allow him to confront his personal life to manage being a responsible citizen in the society in which it operates, able to think in order to eventually build a new society.
In practice, everyone agrees that some consider essential knowledge are part of the basic preparation of citizens, and conversely it is not of education possible without a minimum of mere conventions (like the alphabet, eg ) and interpersonal skills, including education. Instruction and education are often confused. The differences, subtle, are the basis of controversy for a long time, Littré evidenced in his choice of example for the definition of education
But it should be noted that education is taught, and that education be taught by a different mode of action of the master, whatever.
In the early twentieth century, science education meant the pedagogy. Today, in France, since the inception in 1967 the University Department of Educational Sciences expression is used in the plural. Educational problems are studied in borrowing from several disciplines in the humanities (sociology, psychology, biology, economics, philosophy of education, etc..).
Issues
Education is universally regarded as a key issue, as a vehicle of transmission to subsequent generations and as a means of defense and power of well-educated people or, conversely, enslavement of people subject to a "jam skull (racism, xenophobia, legitimization of violence against an enemy, inculcation of normality of an inferior social position).
